Construction Both inside and outside shoulders are closed with barrier wall on I-440 between Exit 4 (Wade Ave) and Exit 1 (I-40) and on US-1 between Exit 1 (I-40) and Exit 101 (Walnut Street). This work is in place to widen I-440 to Six lanes and upgrade all interchanges. Occasional traffic shifts, ramp closures, and night time lane closures will also occur through the life of the project.
