Construction Phase 3 of the Sherman Minton Renewal project Road is scheduled to start on or after May 29 and last for six months. Phase 3 marks the beginning of construction on the top, westbound deck. Work will include painting, deck replacement and any necessary steel repairs. One lane will be closed in each direction during Phase 3 to allow contractors to work while keeping the bridge open. Two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane will be open on the bottom deck, with barrier walls used to separate traffic. One westbound lane will remain open on the top deck, with barrier walls in place to separate the construction zone. Temporary crossovers will be in place in Indiana and Kentucky to allow a westbound lane of traffic to shift to the eastbound direction.
